The artwork

Front: Corazon C. Aquino and her husband Benigno S. Aquino Jr, side by side and smiling, engraved in warm brown over a yellow ground. Between them the arms of the Republic and the seal of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; below, in red, the Benigno S. Aquino Jr Monument. A line at lower left records EDSA People Power I, February 1986, and the motto reads "Pinagpala ang bayan na ang Diyos ay ang Panginoon".

Back: The limestone cliffs and cave mouth of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park on Palawan fill the right-hand side, titled in flowing script. A blue-naped parrot, Tanygnathus lucionensis, perches at centre in green and turquoise, with a second smaller bird at left beside an outline map of the archipelago. A woven textile pattern runs down the right edge over repeated 500 numerals.

In circulation

The New Generation Currency 500-piso design has been in issue since December 2010; this example is dated 2015 and carries the Aquino III–Tetangco signature pair, so it belongs to the later years of that administration. Subsequent printings kept the same artwork under new presidential and governor signatures, and polymer notes have since joined the paper series.
