Front: A Victoria crowned pigeon, named beneath in the plate as GOURA VICTORIA, stands in profile among low foliage, its lace-like crest fanned out at the top left of the note. Behind it, greenish leaf and flower ornament runs through the guilloche work. To the right, the Garuda Pancasila arms hang above a ribbon of engine-turned lines; BANK INDONESIA and SERATUS RUPIAH sit centrally in red, with the designer's credit, Heru Soeroso, at the foot.
Back: The Tangga dam on the Asahan river in North Sumatra, captioned BENDUNGAN TANGGA ASAHAN: a spillway crest with its gatehouse and control cabin, three jets of white water breaking below, and steep forested valley walls closing in on both sides. An oval frame of fine line work carries the counterfoil at left, the serial number appearing twice, and a warning panel in Indonesian sits under the vignette.
Issued in 1984 as part of Bank Indonesia's wildlife-themed run of notes and current through the second half of the decade. A new 100 rupiah note followed in 1992; after that the denomination survived only as a coin, and paper hundreds were withdrawn from everyday use.
