Front: Přemysl Otakar I, King of Bohemia, named in small capitals at the right — a broad, bearded face under a crown, drawn from medieval seal imagery rather than any life portrait. Beside him, his great royal seal shows the king enthroned with sword and orb, ringed by its Latin legend. Below: DVACET KORUN ČESKÝCH and ČESKÁ NÁRODNÍ BANKA over a jewelled band, with the governor's signature and the year 1994.
Back: The Přemyslid royal crown in strong blue, its arched band and cross-topped orb set against pale engraved drapery, with a second seal above showing the Virgin and Child enthroned. To the right, the quartered Czech arms — the Bohemian lion twice, the chequered Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle. The serial number appears vertically at left and horizontally below, with the counterfeiting warning across the centre.the first year of the Czech Republic's own notes. 20being smallest of them.
Part of the first Czech series proper, introduced after the 1993 split from Czechoslovakia; this 1994 dated 20-korun note circulated through the 1990s and 2000s alongside a later variant of the same design. Twenty-korun notes lost legal tender status in 2008, the coin taking over the denomination entirely.
